Just discovered this in Drafts- It’s from Feb and I’d forgotten I’d even thought it!
“Just working on this tune (yes Invitation again) thinking of reviving it in my new quartet ‘Picnic’. What a great bass line on the Jaco Pastorius version of Invitation.

Now the name ‘Picnic’ leads me to start thinking of names for tunes before I’ve even written… them – ‘Wet blanket’, ‘Make mine tuna’ and the soon to be classic ‘Fridge Magnet’ are just the start. Come along to a gig and see how many of them make the wicker basket! ”
