Just below Wynton

Monday, 9th February 2015

I was so busy looking at a splendidly recumbent Gilad Atzmon that I didn’t notice…
hang on, at the bottom, just below Wynton Marsalis. Must be the interview I did a while ago as ‘The Player”.

Well that’s nice… Must get a copy.

Tomorrow the Moon III

Realised I had some very interesting connections going back to the 1970s with the performers in the  first three gigs of the new Blow the Fuse season starting at the Vortex. So I wrote something about it!

Well had a great weekend. Combining being a musician and a promoter is hard work though..
The Maze in Nottingham was a great gig, all ages from teenagers to 60s there who share a love of jazz.

Thanks to Bob Meyrick for these photos. Then the madness of the London Jazz Festival weekend. Wonderful concert playing with Kathy Dyson and Sarah P in Emily Remembered. Supporting Norma Winstone, Nikki Iles and Mark Lockheart at St Mary’s in N16. All filmed by a French film crew.

Sunday 23 Took part in a panel discussion and then basically three separate sets of music – we had to improvise something as one of the bands turned up really late – fire in Charing Cross station.. What a great afternoon it was. The Blow the Fuse takeover of the QEH Front Room.
