Back from five days in the lovely South West. We managed to combine four performances with seeing friends, talking to some great students at Exeter College, walking on beaches, browsing in Totnes and playing with Roz Harding and Marcus Vergette.

The only ‘person’ unhappy was the dog. He loves Cornwall.
We decided it was a bit too much moving around to bring him..

Wow, thanks to my friend and amp technician John Kelly the amp is starting to sound great. I thought it needed a couple of new valves but there was a problem with the output transformer – eek! I was emailing California and Chicago. John got one direct from Fender (thanks to the 65 reissue). It’s now starting to sound lovely. What have I done for him lately? Well i arrived to pick up the Deluxe with an out of order SELMER TRUVOICE, yes one of the original TV12’s. As I said to John, no it didn’t work when i pulled it out of the skip about 15 years ago…

I’ve just bought a 1970s Fender deluxe reverb. Like the big brother/sister to the Princeton I have.
Wanted one of these for years. It’s really ugly and scarred though and the valves are representative of the United nations; American, Russian, Dutch, British…

Definitely needs some TLC hope to bring it back to life.

Well after a busy weekend of alternate pop music – Electric landladies unplugged at Whitstable (actually I have to admit as a mono instrumentalist I was in fact still plugged in) though accordions and ukelele were evident.
Then new trio Lund back in London – rocking out on some originals and great stories and dramatic poetry from Sarah P. Discovered my Epiphone Casino and my little old fender princeton amp have a GREAT rock/blues sound.
