Manchester Jazz and all that

Wednesday, 30th July 2008

Just back from Manchester. Had a nervewracking and wonderful gig there last Saturday. I arrived only 10 minutes before doors were due to open and there was already a queue outside. Playing as a duo is fairly exposing and we only had time to check levels and we were on.
That was the nervewracking part. The audience were quiet. attentive and appreciative. They really made the evening for me. Great playing with Kathy again, such a melodic and fluent guitarist. I think our playing is very complementary and we ended with a fairly rousing version of “All the Things” having chosen some Emily Remler favourites.
PS Don’t forget this Friday at Pizza Soho y’all.
